ചങ്ങമ്പുഴ സാംസ്‌കാരിക കേന്ദ്രത്തിന്റെ ആഭിമുഖ്യത്തില്‍ നടത്തുന്ന” വിചാരോല്‍സവം” പ്രഭാഷണ  പരമ്പരയില്‍ 2016 സെപ്റ്റംബര്‍ 1 നു (വ്യാഴം ) വൈകീട്ട് 6 മണിക്ക് “ഗാഡ് ഗില്‍ കമ്മീഷന്‍ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടും  പശ്ചിമ ഘട്ടവും “ എന്ന  വിഷയത്തെ ആസ്പദമാക്കി ബഹു.എം ,എല്‍ ,എ ശ്രീ .പി .ടി .തോമസ്‌ പ്രഭാഷണം  നടത്തുന്നു .

The Western Ghats Ecology Expert Panel (WGEEP), also known as the Gadgil Commission after its chairman Madhav Gadgil, was an environmental research commission appointed by the Ministry of Environment and Forests of India. The commission submitted the report to the Government of Indiaon 31 August 2011. The Expert Panel approached the project through a set of tasks such as:

  1. Compilation of readily available information about Western Ghats
  2. Development of Geo-spatial database based on environmental sensitivity, and
  3. Consultation with Government bodies and Civil society groups
  4. .P T THOMASP. T. Thomas is a Member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, representing Thrikkakara constituency. He is also a former Member of Parliament who represented the Idukki Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala, India.
