‘Chillara Samaram,’ the play directed by Arun Lal, for Little Earth School of Theatre, Kolathur, Malappuram district, was adjudged the best play in the State Level Short Play Competition conducted by the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi at Thrissur. The award comprises a cash prize of Rs. 15,000, a certificate and memento.

The award for the Best Director, with a cash prize of Rs.10,000, certificate and memento was given to Arun Lal, who directed the play.

Amal Raj, who performed the lead role in Actor & Crew, written and directed by K.R. Ramesh for Swaralaya, Kollam was selected as the Best Male Actor.
