S C S Menon was instrumental in building up the trade union movement irrespective of political affiliation and had led nearly 50 unions simultaneously for over five decades Menon began his career as a chemist in Fertilisers and Chemical Travancore (FACT) in 1946. An agitation in the company in 1949 changed the course of his life and he became a trade union leader.
